Hardware Components Instructions

The main hardware components of the SIP-T46S IP phone are the LCD screen and the keypad.

 

Hardware component instructions of the SIP-T46S IP phone are:

Placing a call

To place a call using the handset

  • Pick up the handset.
  • Enter the number, and tap Send.

To place a call using the hands-free (speakerphone) mode:

  • With the headset connected, press to activate the headset mode.
  • Enter the number, and tap Send.

During a call, you can alternate between the headset, hands-free speakerphone and handset modes by pressing the HEADSET key, the Speakerphone key or by picking up the handset.

Answering a Call

Using the handset: Pick up the handset.

Using the speakerphone: Press speaker button.

Using the headset: Press headset button.


Redialing a number

Press redial key to enter the Placed Calls list, and then tap the desired entry.
Press redial key twice when the phone is idle to dial out the last dialed number.

Call Mute and Un-Mute

Press mute key to mute the microphone during a call.
Press mute key again to un-mute the call.

Call Transfer

Blind Transfer
Tap the Transfer soft key during a call. The call is placed on hold.
Enter the number you want to transfer to.
Press the transfer soft key again on screen.

Semi-Attended Transfer

Press or tap the Transfer soft key during a call. The call is placed on hold.
Enter the number you want to transfer to and then press
Press or tap the Transfer soft key when you hear the ring-back tone.

Attended Transfer
Press or tap the Transfer soft key during a call. The call is placed on hold.
Enter the number you want to transfer to, and then press
Press or tap the Transfer soft key when the second party answers.

Hold

To put an active call on hold:
Press the Hold soft key or Hold function button.
To resume the call:
Press the Resume softkey or Resume function button.
If you have more than one call on hold, tap the Line key of the call you wish to continue, your call will now be active.

Call Conference
Tap the Conference soft key during an active call. The call is placed on hold.
Enter the number of the second party, and then press or tap Conference.
Tap the Conference soft key again when the second party answers. All parties are now joined in the conference.
Tap the End Call soft key to disconnect all parties.

Icons Instructions

Feature Status Icons

Icons appearing on the status bar are described in the following table:

 

LED Instructions

LED Status Description
Solid green The monitored user is idle.
Fast-flashing red (200ms) The monitored user receives an incoming call.
Solid red The monitored user is busy. The monitored user’s conversation is placed on hold (This LED status requires server support).
Slow-flashing red (1s) The call is parked against the monitored user’s phone number.
Off

The monitored user does not exist.

 

Line key LED (used as a page switch key)

LED Status Description
Solid red There is a parked call on the line key of the non-current page.
Fast-flashing green The line receives an incoming call on the line key of thenon-current page.
Fast-flashing red

The monitored user receives an incoming call on the line key of the non-current page.

 

Line key LED (associated with a shared line)

The local SCA phone indicates the phone is involved in an SCA call, while the monitoring SCA phone indicates the phone is not involved in the SCA call.

LED Status Description
Off The shared line is idle.
Fast-flashing green The shared line receives an incoming call.
Solid green (for local SCA phone) Solid red (for monitoring SCA phone) The shared line is in conversation. The shared line is dialing. The shared line is seized. The shared line conversation is barged in by the other shared line party.
Slow-flashing green (for local SCA phone) Slow-flashing red (for monitoring SCA phone) The shared line conversation is placed on public hold.
Slow-flashing green (for local SCA phone) Solid red (for monitoring SCA phone) The shared line conversation is placed on private hold. For a multi-party call, all the shared line parties participating in this call place the shared l conversation o hld.
